Anglican/Episcopal Church History

January Intensives – Week Two – January 13-17, 2025

Anglican and Episcopal Church History traces the history of Anglicanism in England and North America from the beginning of the seventeenth century up until the present day through concerted engagement with primary and secondary historical sources. Students will be expected to work independently in this course. They will participate in leading class discussions and complete a final assignment which will require them to study a particular person, event, or movement covered in class with reference to the Scriptures.

Instructor: The Rev. Dr. David Ney

Having studied patristic exegesis with Hans Boersma at Regent College, David pursued his interest in the history of biblical interpretation at Wycliffe College, where he studied Anglican figural interpretation under the direction of Ephraim Radner. Having served in an Anglican parish for three years, he joined Trinity Anglican Seminary’s faculty in 2017. David and his family are active members of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Sewickley, PA.
