January Intensives – Week One – January 6-10, 2024
This course will include a survey of the message in the Old and New Testaments, and the role of hermeneutics and biblical theology as they apply to the church and ministry today. Students will consider ways in which they can use the Bible in ministry and mission, particularly in preaching, ethics, apologetics, and missiology.
Instructor: The Rev. Dr. Jacob Rodriguez
Dr. Rodriguez is the Associate Professor of New Testament at Trinity Anglican Seminary. Before coming to Trinity, he served in various ministries for twelve years in Ethiopia, Oxford, and Washington, DC. These included theological education, discipleship mobilization for Muslim background believers, and pastoral ministry. In 2021, he completed a DPhil in New Testament and Early Christianity at the University of Oxford with the thesis, “Combining Gospels in Early Christianity: The One, the Many, and the Fourfold”. He was given the 2023 Manfred Lautenschlaeger Award for Theological Promise. Jacob is an ordained priest in the Anglican Church in North America. He and his wife, Tessa, have three children and love to serve others through hospitality.
