June Intensives 2025 – Week Two – June 2-6, 2025
This three-credit introductory course is required for all Doctor of Ministry students at the start of the program. It offers students an overview of the various aspects of the Doctor of Ministry program, equipping them for the process of exploring, researching, and reflecting theologically on a specific ministry concern/problem in context with an eye to advancing the faithful mission and ministry of the church. The course will look at three things: 1. Listening – to God, his church (vision), to self (trust), to the culture, context, and others (ethnographic research); 2. Serving – contextualizing ministry in light of a changing ecclesial world; and 3. Leading Christian mission in a postmodern, post-Christian, secular culture. These three elements will help students identify the concern/problem in ministry about which they are passionate, and which could become the basis for your future thesis-project in the Doctor of Ministry program, the final educational outcome of your academic work in this program.
