The Book of Exodus

Delivered to Worship: Reading Exodus for the Church.

A group of engaged people seated in a classroom setting, smiling and attentive. A woman rests her head on her hand, conveying amusement and interest.

An in‑depth study of Exodus as Christian Scripture, following the drama of deliverance from Egypt, the covenant at Sinai, and the rhythms of tabernacle worship. Through close reading of key passages, you will analyze Exodus’s content, structure, and theological claims—freedom and fidelity, presence and holiness, priesthood and sacrifice—while tracing Old Testament echoes, New Testament fulfillment, and the book’s reception in the church’s prayer and teaching. The course integrates rigorous exegesis with accessible guidance so Exodus forms preaching, worship, discipleship, and mission in today’s Anglican parish.
