Prayerbook Theology

A person with short hair holds a red book, sitting in a church pew. Two individuals behind, one reading. Warm lighting; focused, contemplative mood.

Shaped by Worship: Prayer, Sacrament, and the Anglican Year.

A woman in a red jacket, with eyes closed, leans forward on a church pew in prayer. Others in the background are also praying, creating a serene atmosphere.

An introduction to the theology and history of Christian liturgical worship that traces how prayer, sacrament, and the church year shape a life rooted in Word and table. With a focused study of the Book of Common Prayer—its development, structure, and pastoral use—you will learn how Anglican liturgy forms Christian belief and practice, and how to lead worship that is biblically grounded, theologically clear, and hospitable to your congregation.
