The Church and the Culture: Mission in Modern America

A group of people sit at tables in a classroom setting, some smiling and engaged, with notebooks and devices. The atmosphere is relaxed and attentive.

Parish as Outpost: Practicing Mission in Today’s North America.

Two men engage in conversation in a classroom setting. One is seated, smiling up at the other. In the background, two more men chat. The atmosphere is friendly and engaged.

An introduction to mission and ministry in North American culture through the lens of practical theology. The course centers the local parish as a Kingdom outpost and equips you to read your context with theological clarity—engaging civil religion, media ecosystems, technology, entertainment, and consumerism. Through case studies and accessible frameworks, you will connect doctrine to practice for parish life, integrating evangelism, catechesis, apologetics, and pastoral mission so the church can bear faithful witness in everyday life.
