Trinity Anglican Seminary APPOINTS THE REV. CN. WES JAGOE AS CHAPLAIN & DIRECTOR OF THE TROPHIMUS CENTER

Trinity Anglican Seminary is pleased to announce the appointment of The Rev. Cn. Wes Jagoe (MDiv, 2017) as the new Chaplain & Director of the Trophimus Center. With a diverse background encompassing Anglican ministry, military service, and a passion for worship, Cn. Jagoe brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the mission and values of Trinity Anglican Seminary.

The Very Rev. Bryan C. Hollon, Ph.D., Dean President of Trinity Anglican Seminary, expressed his enthusiasm for Cn. Jagoe’s appointment, saying, “when I called the Archbishop for a recommendation concerning Wes Jagoe, Abp. Foley said, ‘I cannot think of anyone better suited for this position.’ Wes will oversee all things liturgical in his role as Chaplain and Director of the Trophimus Center. He has a deep love of Anglican history, theology, and liturgy and a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with the Trinity community. Wes and Katie will be very warmly welcomed when they join us in August.”

As the Chaplain, Cn. Jagoe will oversee the proper functioning and maintenance of the regular, liturgical life of the campus community beginning in mid-August. This includes planning and coordinating daily morning and evening prayer, Wednesday Eucharist throughout the academic year, contracting and supervising chapel musicians, and organizing liturgies and special services in collaboration with the faculty and students. Cn. Jagoe’s expertise in Anglican worship and his dedication to forming future church leaders through the liturgy will greatly contribute to the spiritual life at Trinity. “I have a passion for the role that historic Prayer Book Anglicanism has on evangelism and spiritual formation and to help preserve the art and science of public worship,” says Cn. Jagoe. “Through seminary chapel, academic programs, and the Trophimus Center, I believe Trinity can be an exemplar that prepares people for ministry across the full spectrum of the Anglican tradition, all while being faithful to the evangelical ethos of Trinity.”

Additionally, Cn. Jagoe will assume the responsibility of Director of the Trophimus Center. In this role, he will advertise and promote the Trophimus Center facility for rental use to organizations whose mission aligns with that of Trinity Anglican Seminary. Cn. Jagoe will schedule and administer events, provide hospitality to speakers and guests, and ensure the worship/retreat atmosphere is maintained for the campus and Ambridge community.

Cn. Jagoe’s extensive background includes serving as the Canon to the Archbishop in the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), where he acts as an ordained cleric assistant and chaplain to the Archbishop and Primate. He will continue in this role throughout the remainder of Archbishop Beach’s term, which ends in June 2024. He has also held the position of Canon for Worship (Precentor) at St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral in Tallahassee, FL, where he oversaw strategic worship transformation and introduced aesthetic improvements to sacred spaces.
Furthermore, Cn. Jagoe’s military experience as a Marine Corps Reserve officer and combat veteran has honed his leadership skills and cultivated a strong sense of discipline and service. He has served as a rifle platoon commander in Afghanistan, Field Historian, and Senior Watch Officer in Baghdad, among other roles.

Cn. Wes Jagoe holds a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Anglican Seminary and has pursued further education through the Marine Corps Command and Staff College. His commitment to the English Use and classic Prayer Book Anglicanism, as well as his love for English church music, will enrich the worship experience at Trinity Anglican Seminary. He is engaged to marry Dr. Katie Bell, a pediatric dentist, this summer.
