Have you ever wondered what is happening during a Twelve Step meeting? Do you desire more tools to minister to people in a world filled with addiction? We invite you to spend the day with us as we explore the spiritually vibrant world of Alcoholics Anonymous and the Twelve Step fellowships. We will look at the Christian roots of the Twelve Steps and discover how this model of recovery can both inform and transform our approach to discipleship. We will consider the physical and spiritual dimensions of addiction, as well as, engage with real tools and resources for assisting those trapped in addiction.  We might even discover how the beautiful gifts offered through the Twelve Steps might enrich our capacities as leaders and encourage and deepen our own lives with Christ.

ABOUT THE PASTORAL RESPONSES SERIES

As a school for ministry, we put much thought and prayer into how we form our students as faithful ministers in the mission of Christ to the world. We also seek to further equip those in pastoral ministry beyond seminary to be even more effective in how the Lord is calling them to serve Him. Our intent is to help those engaged in pastoral ministry think about life in the world around us and the sufferings of people.  To that end, for the past several years the Practical Theology Department has hosted a series of mini-conferences entitled “Pastoral Responses…” on a variety of topics, including Church revitalization, faith & work, and pastoral counseling, among others.

Please join us as we explore these pressing pastoral topics.
