Dr. Thomas Breedlove serves as Director of Ad Fontes at Trinity Anglican Seminary, putting his scholarship in service of the church. He earned his BA at UNC Chapel Hill, his MDiv at Duke Divinity School, and his PhD at Baylor University, with work devoted to early Christian theology and dialogue across disciplines and centuries. His highest goal as a teacher is helping students encounter the texts and voices of the Christian tradition in ways that transform their perspective and practice today.
He leads Ad Fontes to facilitate community and dialogue across the broad spectrum of Anglican theological expression, enriching ministry and cultivating unity. He is convicted that learning to read different voices with charity forms leaders to practice, teach, and minister well in their various contexts. His recent scholarship includes A Phenomenology of the Divine Image (Bloomsbury, 2026) and, with Alex Fogleman, Human Flourishing in Early Christian Theology (Baylor UP, 2026).
He believes humility to listen carefully grounds both scholarship and true community, and treasures Trinity's communal life—especially prayer and food. He hopes students grow in love for one another and the communities they serve. At home he is married to Kaitlyn, with two young children, Jack and Frankie, and his remaining time is given to his coffee roasting company.
