M. Griffin Johnston

BS - Religion - 2023, Hillsdale College

Ambassador for Advancement

Griffin Johnston came to Trinity as a student with a conviction that to be a well-formed theologian required her to be a praying person. With a BS in Religion from Hillsdale College, where she ran the Anglican Student Fellowship, she discerned her call to theological studies through the Brazos Fellows program at Christ Church Waco. When invited to serve as Ambassador for Advancement alongside her MAR studies, she was pleased to support Trinity's mission.

Ms. Johnston sees her work in Advancement as that which allows Trinity's excellent formation to continue. She helps ensure that Trinity remains an affordable option for those called to ministry, freeing the institution to pursue its gospel formation without financial concerns.

She loves the life of prayer shared in the daily offices and enjoys sharing meals with classmates. Her hope for future clergy is that they be grounded in the truth of the gospel, have radical trust in God's provision, and know themselves as the beloved of God so they can bring hope to a divided church and world. Her academic interests include epistemology, desire, and the works of Richard Hooker. Outside of work and the classroom, she enjoys weight lifting and keeping warm in the sauna.
