Mr. Steve Sims has known of Trinity since college when his priest encouraged him to pursue a degree here. Most of his career he served the poor and addicted through various NGOs, always in service to Jesus. When his wife Shannon's friend suggested the IT position at Trinity, he prayed and decided that serving Jesus here would suit him. With a BA from Washington & Jefferson College and a love for computers since college, he now serves as Director of Information Technology.
Mr. Sims sees his role in formation as mostly staying out of the way and making certain that technology serves to enhance the work of faculty and staff. He's doing his job well when no one is aware he's doing it at all. While he feels resident formation is the gold standard, the world has become less "in person" and more "in technology," so his background role is becoming more important to Trinity's mission. He hopes he presents an example of faithful and competent service in non-ministerial work.
He loves hanging with Trinity's rockstar faculty and students and participating in the daily offices as he can. His hope is to see young ministers formed to serve the church. When he's not keeping Trinity's technology running smoothly, you'll find Mr. Sims with his grandkids, gardening, working with wood, or exploring his interest in aviation.
