Trinity’s Doctor of Ministry (DMin) program seeks to enhance students’ capacities for studying pastoral ministry by engaging them in substantive and critical theological reflection on concrete pastoral situations in their particular contexts. The intent of this area of study is to strengthen mission and ministry in service of a more fruitful Church, both locally and around the world. The DMin is designed for clergy and Christian leaders working in ministry of all sorts. The DMin in the theological world is akin to the MD in the realm of medicine. Both of these professional degrees cultivate expertise in the practical realm.
The DMin program is 30 credits including a thesis-project. Courses are offered twice a year during January and June intensives, designed with pre-course and post-course work to be completed at home. Thus, you will only be away from your leadership assignment a few weeks a year for study, reflection, fellowship, and prayer.
DMin students generally take 1-2 courses per intensive. Most DMin students graduate after 6-7 years of study.
