Wednesday, June 5 7:30 - 9:00 pm

In this three-day seminar, Andy Piercy and friends will offer workshops and teaching for any active volunteer and staff worship leaders looking for practical and easily accessible advice to improve, deepen, and refresh their ministries.

Join others involved in music ministry who are in the beginning or developing stage of including contemporary music leadership for their churches.

This seminar is open to those serving in any denomination.

Topics will include:

  • Biblical foundations for worship
  • The importance of building trust
  • Understanding the journey of worship and choosing songs that build flow
  • Developing a sustainable model appropriate for your church
  • Learning what makes a song work well congregationally
  • How to effectively introduce new songs and styles
  • Integrating the sacramental and the contemporary 
  • Identifying and avoiding common mistakes
  • How to build confidence as a worship leader
  • Music production and administration for a band.
  • Maintaining a healthy spiritual and emotional balance in your role

OUR SPEAKER

Andy Piercy

Andy Piercy is a Worship Development Consultant advising churches and providing in-depth coaching for worship leaders. From 1993 Andy was on staff as worship leader at Holy Trinity Brompton, UK and in 2006 was appointed National Director of Worship Development for the AMiA in the USA. Andy has produced albums for Delirious, Matt Redman, and Graham Kendrick, as well as written and recorded as well as writing and recording his own worship songs.

Rachel Wilhelm

Rachel Wilhelm is a worship leader and singer-songwriter recording artist in Knoxville, TN. She is Vice President of the ministry United Adoration and leads songwriting and worship arts retreats for local churches and their artists. She also is a conference and workshop speaker both in the USA and the UK.  Her album list is growing with  A Kindling Glance (EP) (2016), Songs of Lament   (2017), Requiem (2021), Mystery Canticles (2022), and Jeremiah (2023).  Visit her at rachelwilhelm.com.

Mike O'Brien

Mike O’Brien is a worship coach, leadership mentor, teacher, and music producer. He holds his Masters of Worship Studies from the Robert E. Webber Institute and is serving the Church at large in worship team training and leader mentoring. He served as a worship pastor for 20 years and, since 2016, has served in over 200 churches in mainline, charismatic, and liturgical streams. Visit him at threestreamsworship.com.

FAQ

Should we bring an instrument?

Please do!  Many students will have an opportunity to lead worship or play with others during the event, so feel free to bring a guitar if you wish.  We will have piano/keyboards on site and guitars to borrow if you don’t wish to travel with one.

What is the cost of the seminar?

The price for the event is $400, which includes 3 lunches and all course materials.

Are scholarships available?

Yes!  We are offering partial and full registration scholarships for those who need them.  Please fill out the registration form below to apply.

A detailed schedule will be provided at the event.  However, some important info to know for planning your trip:

Monday, June 3 – 7:00pm: Reception, Welcome, & Worship
Tuesday, June 4 – 8:30am: Morning Prayer in the Trinity Chapel begins our first full day
Wednesday, June 5 – 7:30pm: Free Public Concert with Rachel Wilhelm
Thursday, June 6 – 3:30pm: Event ends, but you are welcome to stay for Evening Prayer
