Reports to:  Commons Chef

Time Requirement:  PT (up to 20 hrs/wk), hourly, non-exempt 

 

Job Summary:  

The Kitchen Assistant will create an atmosphere of hospitality for Trinity students, faculty, staff, and guests through preparing and serving fresh, tasty, quality food at Trinity lunches, post-worship coffee hours, and events.

 

Primary Duties:  

  • Assist with preparation, cooking, baking, and serving of food/beverages
  • Follow direction from the cook/baker
  • Set-up and breakdown of serving stations
  • Wash dishes
  • Clean and sanitize work areas 
  • Work during kitchen hours of M-Th 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.; occasional evenings and weekends at both Trinity Main Campus and the Trophimus Center

 

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Possess organization skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to attend work consistently and punctually

Education and Experience

  • Experience in a cooking/baking environment, preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Christian ethics and integrity

  • Commitment to Trinity’s vision, values, purpose, and Statement of Faith
  • Ability to interact pleasantly with faculty, staff, students, donors, and visitors

 

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:

  • Remain on feet for extended periods of time
  • Lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Work in a potentially hot kitchen for extended periods of time
