This course offers a survey of the history of member churches of the Anglican Communion and Anglicans from other jurisdictions in the non-Western world, with opportunity for extended focus on particular geographic regions, groups, or themes.
Dr. Ed Smither
Ed Smither serves as Professor of History of Global Christianity and Dean of the School of Missions and Intercultural Ministry at Columbia International University. Before entering the world of higher education, he served for fourteen years in intercultural ministry in North Africa, France, and the USA. He has authored or edited seventeen books, including Missionary Monks, Mission in the Early Church, and Christian Mission: A Concise Global History. Since 1999, he’s been married to Shawn and they have three kids: Brennan, Emma, and Eve. Ed enjoys cycling, getting away to the beach and the mountains, and taking in at least one rock concert a year.
