Spring 2026
This course will explore the informative and formative capacities of the Catechism, based on the three traditional pillars of Christian catechesis: the Rule of Faith (the Creeds), the Rule of Hope (the Lord’s Prayer), and the Rule of Love (the Ten Commandments). The Creeds provide a model for Christian faith, or belief. The Lord’s Prayer provides a template for prayer as an expression of the virtue of hope. And the Decalogue offers a structure for cultivating the virtue of love. This course invites students to embark on a thorough examination of the contents of these three pillars of the Christian faith, with the goal of equipping Christian leaders to similarly cultivate the virtues of faith, hope, and love within their own catechetical ministry contexts.
