Department:  IT/Communications/Events

 Job Summary:  

Trinity seeks a skilled and mission-minded Audio Visual Technician to support the technical and creative needs of campus events, classes, and weekly Eucharist services. The ideal candidate will ensure a distraction-free and high-quality experience for both in-person and livestream participants, cultivating an environment that supports worship, hospitality, and excellence in presentation. 

Principal Duties:  

Event and Worship Production (60%)

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audio, lighting, and video systems for worship services, classes, board meetings, and special events. 
  • Provide technical support and guidance for events, campus activities, classes, and livestream productions. 
  • Set up, test, and tear down AV equipment for lectures, conferences, and community events. 
  • Collaborate with event organizers, faculty, and staff to assess AV needs and provide recommendations. 
  • Become fluent in our AV system and use it to manage and coordinate event needs. 
  • Provide live-streaming support for on-campus and hybrid events. 

Media Creation and Production (20%)

  • Record and produce high-quality video and audio content, such as livestreams and digital recordings.
  • Perform post-production video editing and prepare recordings for distribution or archive. 
  • Record, edit, and produce professional-quality podcasts and other media content. 

Equipment and Systems Management (15%)

  • Maintain and update an inventory of AV equipment, digital assets, and media files.
  • Ensure equipment is in good working condition and schedule maintenance as needed. 
  • Evaluate current systems and make recommendations for new or upgraded AV equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of best practices in AV production and stay current with new technologies. 

Collaboration and Training (5%)

  • Train or guide staff, students, and volunteers in the basic use of AV systems.
  • Support and embody Trinity’s vision, purpose, and values in all aspects of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of video, audio, and streaming equipment, use, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of video, audio, and streaming software 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; able to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty and students. 
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in media production, communications, or related field preferred; or equivalent professional experience.

 Working Conditions/Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:

  • Lift, carry, assemble, and operate all necessary equipment 
  • Sit or stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Kneel, stoop, crouch, and bend while balancing video equipment and cameras.
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed for campus events.
  • Occasionally work outdoors or in varied weather conditions while supporting on-site events.
