Reports to:  Vice President of Administration/Kitchen Manager

Time Requirement:  

Months: August-June

Days: Monday-Thursday

Hours: 15-20 hrs/wk, 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Occasional evenings and Saturdays (for events)

Non-exempt (eligible for overtime)

 

 Job Summary:  

The Kitchen Assistant will create an atmosphere of hospitality for Trinity students, faculty, staff, and guests through preparing and serving fresh, tasty, quality food at Trinity lunches, post-worship coffee hours, and events.

 

Principal Duties:  

  • Assist with preparation, cooking, baking, and serving of food/beverages in multiple kitchens and dining settings
  • Clean and Sanitize dishes, kitchen work areas, and dining setting
  • Coordinate student Kitchen assistants and volunteers

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Experience in a cooking/baking environment, preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Possess organization skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to attend work consistently and punctually

 Working Conditions/Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:

  • Stand and work for extended hours in potentially hot or cold surroundings
  • Navigate between two kitchens approximately ½ mile distance
  • Work occasional evenings and weekends during Seminary-hosted events
  • Lift up to 30lbs
