The Rt. Rev. David Hicks

The Rt. Rev. Hicks was born in Salem County, New Jersey, in 1963. He holds degrees from Valley Forge University (BS, 1984), Westminster Theological Seminary (MAR, 1986; PhD, 2016), and Lutheran Theological Seminary (STM, 1999).

David served as legislative aide to the Speaker of the New Jersey General Assembly from 1987 to 1995 while pursuing ordination in the Reformed Episcopal Church. He was ordained deacon in 1990 and priest in 1992, holding a part-time position in church planting. In 1995 he became rector of St. Paul's Reformed Episcopal Church, Oreland, Pennsylvania. The following year he began lecturing at Reformed Episcopal Seminary and was later named professor of New Testament. He met his wife, Lisa, during this season, and they married in 1998. In 2005, he was consecrated bishop of the Diocese of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, while continuing to serve the seminary.

Desiring to return to parish ministry, Bishop David became rector of Saint Peter's Anglican Church, Butler, Pennsylvania in August 2019. He serves on the Butler County Children and Youth Advisory Board and continues as a member of the ACNA College of Bishops, serving on ecumenical dialogue teams with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and the Orthodox Church in America.

David and Lisa reside in Butler, Pennsylvania and have three grown children.
