Distance Education

Trinity Anglican Seminary is to be a global center for Christian formation in the evangelical Anglican tradition, producing outstanding leaders who can plant, renew, and grow churches that make disciples of Jesus Christ.

In the service of this vision, Trinity provides more than a seminary online. We seek to make Christian academic and spiritual formation accessible to those who, for a variety of reasons, cannot relocate to our campus in Ambridge, PA. Through our distance education courses, we offer more than simply the ability to study at a distance—we offer the opportunity to join with a community of disciples.

Trinity Formation through the Church-Based Pathway

Thanks to innovations in digital technology and online education, we are now able to offer students a Church-Based Pathway.

The Church-Based Pathway is for those who are already established in their local Anglican church but want to benefit from the insights and connections that Trinity Anglican Seminary offers.

Sign up for one of our programs, take the majority of your classes online, and visit Ambridge for week-long (Monday through Friday) Intensives in January and June each year. Intensives offer for-credit courses in a conference-like atmosphere. You will arrive prepared, having done the reading and assignments at home, and will complete your assignments after you return.

In addition to our Online and Intensive courses, we are also developing some Mentored courses for credit. These courses allow you to make progress in passing some courses by demonstrating competency with an accredited mentor in your church.

Here are five benefits to following our Church-Based Pathway:

  1. A strong relationship with a proven Anglican church leader (who is your accredited Church-Based Pathway mentor for the Mentored courses) as well a wide network of Anglican priests and professors from across the Province as you gather in Ambridge for the Intensives.
  2. Applying your seminary insights directly into your ministry context.
  3. A deep understanding of your particular Anglican ministry context. Seek the welfare of the city and your church where you have been planted.
  4. Accessing our online library resources through EBSCO Theological Databases and the JSTOR Religion & Theology Collection.
  5. Generous scholarships for Intensive classes taken on campus in Ambridge.
